Alleged forgery: Absence of EFAB Properties Ltd CEO stalls arraignment

By Joy Kaka

The arraignment of the Chief Executive Officer of EFAB Properties Limited, Fabian Nwaora, for alleged forgery was on Monday stalled due to his absence in an Abuja High Court.

The Inspector-General of Police charged Nwaora with seven counts bordering on forgery.

The defence counsel, Ezekiel Egbo, told the court that his client was not in court because he was served with the charge at 3.00 pm on Friday.

The prosecution counsel, Eba Favour, holding brief for Wisdom Madaki, however, asked the court for a new date for the arraignment.

The trial judge, Justice Aliyu Shafa, in the interest of justice, adjourned the matter until March 16 for arraignment.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police, in a seven-count charge marked FHC/HC/CR/748/2025, alleged that Nwaora forged international passport no. A01646675 with name Kenneth Chinedu Ogbogu purported to have been issued by Nigeria Immigration Service on or about April 5, 2024.

The police alleged that Nwaora used as genuine a forged international passport with the said name and altered a certificate of incorporation with company name Ke Keneco Investment Ltd with company registration No. 619680 signed by A. Almustapha Registrar General.

The prosecution further alleged that Nwaora forged a company letter head paper, used it as genuine and forged a national identity number (NIN) purportedly to have been issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The offence, the police said, contravened the provisions of sections 364, 366, 362 of the Penal Code and punishable under 364.
